Hey guys since I live in London there are tournaments to be found literally every week but since I have been busy with exams I haven't been able to go to any. I even missed YCS London this way. Anyways Friday I had been allowed to go to the tournament and even given money to spend there. I will talk about my experiences and thoughts on tournaments on this thread.

Before the tournament:
I was excited I could actually go to a tournament after all these months and was being extremely hyperactive. I was gathering up all my cards my trade binder and my deck box when I got a call from my friend. Me & my friend were supposed to have gone by car to the locals but his dad had some important job to do so he left up on our own. I ran downstairs got my breakfast and rushed outta my hose towards the train station near my house. 

In my rush I had forgotten to put on a jacket and was freezing to death in the damn English weather. After that me and my friend started discussing decks. He had bought along a Evilswarm deck. With Dragon Rulers around everywhere this was a good idea but Dragons can still overcome this format very easily.

Side is irrelevent because my siding is mainly against Dragons Rulers and Spellbooks

Anyways we made it to the tournament just on time, thanks to my brilliant sense of direction, so we didn't get to buy/sell any cards. But then we got onto the swiss rounds. There were only 4 swiss round and a final cut-off between Top 4 so here we go.

Round 1

Unsurprisingly I was up against Dragon Rulers 1st round the first round was not that eventful as her went 1st turn Dragosack where I went Pleides and Vanity's emptiness within my 1st 2 turns. Round 2 I went Iron wall and there wasn't anything he could do since he had decided to keep his Redox in defense position and thats it. He did eventually draw into a flamvell Guard then blaster my iron wall but it was too late for a comeback and I took game within a couple of turns.

Won 2-0

Round 2

I was up against a legion of Ophions but I pulled free and won game 1. Game 2 I didn't draw into a single monster until turn 4 where I drew into a polllux and didn't draw anything else, he ofc was turning out pandemics against me so my traps were literally useless.

Lost 2-0

Round 3

This time it was Spellbooks. Round 1 I drew into my iron wall which won me the game but round 2 & 3 he sided in MSTs and dust tornados + a couple of royals decrees to downslide my deck which he couldn't do because I had drawn into my epidemic which was the game winner. Round 2 I lost however because my misplay with my Omega and M7

Won 2-1

Round 4

This round was the most intense since if I lost this duel I would have no chance of coming Top 4. Dragon Rulers again. This guy was a lucker, he drew into everything he needed lus a few bonuses like veiler and stuff but I tugged back control to win round 1. Round 2 he went 1st turn LIM and after 4 more turn I had nothing to do but surrender. Round 3 was the perfect hand.I drew into both Vanity & Iron wall and made a Omega due to the lack of kaus and end turn the moment I pulled iron wall against him his face was blank then he used blaster on my iron wall when I pulled my vanity then he surrendered.

Won 2-1

Checking the ranking I ranked 4th just 2 points above the Spellbooks guy so I made my way to the cut-off


Semi-Finals

This was in no way my game I was up against another Spellbook user and he was maining 2 MSTs which meant I couldn't pull off a Iron walla safely. Even round 2 I didn't draw into a single iron wall, deck lockdown, epidemic or DNA surgery. this meant I was eliminated. Now normally the locals even ave the duel for 3rd place but the guy I was supposed to play against didn't turn up. We waited until the finals ended to play for 3rd but since he didn't turn up I won the 3rd place with 12 pack while the finalist got 20 packs  and the winner got a whole Judgment of the light booster box.

I was somewhat disappointed that I couldn't play in the 3rd place mathc but who could be unhappy while they pulled like this from their packs...?
