Artifacts Artifacts is a fairy archetype based on level 5 monsters that can be set into your s/t zone, and they all share the same effect of being able special summon themselves when destroyed in the s/t one and sent to the graveyard during the opponent turn. They are a collection of monsters with various effects that would offer you (Drawing, Destroying your s/t, Destroying card your opp control, Protecting from card effects, protecting from monster effects and a recycling from grave).
In short the deck is focusing on summoning Rank 5 monsters quickly, and to support this strategy and those monsters there are many options to consider and run and I'll talk a bit about each one I could think of and then show you the builds I'm currently working on.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
First let's take a look at this archetype cards Artifact Caduceus
- Quote :
- You can Set this card from your hand to your Spell & Trap Card Zoneas a Spell Card. When this Set card in your Spell & Trap Card Zone is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard during your opponent's turn:Special Summon this card. During your opponent's turn, when an "Artifact" monster is Special Summoned: Draw 1 card. You must control this face-up card to activate and to resolve this effect. You can only control 1 "Artifact Caduceus".
This card can is the drawing engine in this archetype and it has a decently good defense points. Run it 2-3 it's a must to have!!
Artifact Aegis
- Quote :
- You can Set this card from your hand to your Spell & Trap Card Zone as a Spell Card. When this Set card in your Spell & Trap Card Zone is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard during your opponent's turn: Special Summon this card. If this card is Special Summoned during your opponent's turn: Until the end of this turn, "Artifact" monsters you control cannot be targeted by, or be destroyed by, card effects.
A protector from effects with a big amount of defense points. Run it at 2
Artifact Failnaught
- Quote :
- You can Set this card from your hand to your Spell & Trap Card Zone as a Spell Card. When this Set card in your Spell & Trap Card Zone is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard during your opponent's turn: Special Summon this card. If this card is Special Summoned during your opponent’s turn: You can target 1 "Artifact" monster in your Graveyard; Set that target to your Spell & Trap Card Zone as a Spell Card.
This monster is to recycle your artifacts from the graveyard, it has a decent amount of attack points and it's effect is something good to have. Run it at 2
Artifact Moralltach
- Quote :
- You can Set this card from your hand to your Spell & Trap Card Zone as a Spell Card. When this Set card in your Spell & Trap Card Zone is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard during your opponent's turn: Special Summon this card. If this card is Special Summoned during your opponent's turn: You can destroy 1 face-up card your opponent controls.
This card is explaining itself, it has a very good effect along aside very good amount of attack points. Run it at 3
Artifact Labrys
- Quote :
- You can Set this card from your hand to your Spell & Trap Card Zone as a Spell Card. When this Set card in your Spell & Trap Card Zone is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard during your opponent's turn: Special Summon this card. When an "Artifact" card is destroyed and sent to your Graveyard: You can Special Summon this card from your hand.
I'm personally not a fan of this card, it looks like bad to me tho it's effect is decently good yet I see running other things over it (like Overlay Booster for example) would be much better. Run it 0-2
Artifact Beagalltach
- Quote :
- You can Set this card from your hand to your Spell & Trap Card Zone as a Spell Card. When this Set card in your Spell & Trap Card Zone is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard during your opponent's turn: Special Summon this card. If this card is Special Summoned during your opponent's turn: Destroy up to 2 Set cards you control. You can only use this effect of "Artifact Beagalltach" once per turn.
Now this card is being debate between good or not, I personally see it a very important card and it's the trigger of the whole engine of this archetype. Run it 0-2
Artifact Achilles (Not on YGOPro yet)
- Quote :
- You can Set this card from your hand to your Spell & Trap Card Zone as a Spell Card. When this Set card in your Spell & Trap Card Zone is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard during your opponent's turn: Special Summon this card. If this card is Special Summoned during your opponent's turn: Until the end of this turn, your opponent cannot target "Artifact" monsters you control for an attack.
I didn't really had the chance to run it and see how it goes, though it seems to be a good artifact to have even broken if you think of it. Run it at 2
Artifact Durandal
- Quote :
- 2 Level 5 monsters
Once per turn, during either player's turn, you can activate 1 of these effects. ● When a monster effect is activated on the field, OR when a Normal Spell/Trap Card is activated: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; that card's effect becomes "Destroy 1 Spell/Trap Card your opponent controls." ● You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; each player shuffles their entire hand into the Deck, then each player draws the same number of cards they shuffled.
The xyz boss is extremely good card; you'll have the advantage of turning the effects of your opponent into effects that will help you active your set artifacts or simply get a new hand. Run 2-3
Artifact Movement
- Quote :
- Target 1 Spell/Trap Card on the field; destroy that target, and if you do, Set 1 "Artifact" monster directly from your Deck to your Spell & Trap Card Zone as a Spell Card. If this card in your possession is destroyed by your opponent's card: Your opponent skips their next Battle Phase.
It's a mst with + effects, extremely good card for many usage; getting rid of your opponent's s/t, using it on your own s/t (artifact monsters) and don't forget it's effect to search an artifact and set into s/t zone and finally, if it was MST'd for example, your opponent can't get their BP that turn. Run 3
Theosophy of the Artifacts
- Quote :
- Special Summon 1 "Artifact" monster from your Deck. You can only activate 1 "Theosophy of the Artifacts" per turn. You cannot conduct your Battle Phase the turn you activate this card. If this card in your possession is destroyed by your opponent's card: You can target 1 card on the field; destroy that target.
Finally a very important card that can special summon any artifact from your deck not to forget it's second effect that would destroy a card your opponent control if this card was MST'd for example. (You'll mostly use it at the EP of your opponent to summon Beagalltach then use Beagalltach effect to destroy up to 2 s/t and set yourself for your turn) Run 3
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Now you know all the cards, it's time to go to some builds I've been working on, they are all to be called a beta version and needs more improving!!
By pure I mean I'm not mixing other archetypes with them, I'm running them without any support.
I'll talk about some choices in here, POD, Cardcar and Upstart upstart is basically to fast up the deck, it's already fast and with this it becomes incredibly quick, Since you won't SS cards much during your turn (in the setting up your field phases) you'd use POD to search the good stuff, Cardcar to be used and get pluses after you set your artifacts =p Again I note this isn't a finished build it's a beta version, you should try making your own with your personal touches in.
Instant fusion could be added to this build as well.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
I'm running more of a quicker R5 focusing in this than the first build, I aimed for a more stable build considering the cyber and their searching and summoning engine, I'm still testing it, I might remove few things and replace with others etc..
Reason why I'm having the cyber engine in this to simply pullout Cyber Plant set the field to search Chronomaly Golden Jet while core in grave, So basically instant R5 without the usage of any artifact. I'm still not sure of the count of each card in this build, it's a beta version
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
The last build I'm working on is similar to others but with few changes and if you're interested in seeing it, this's it:
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Cards to consider in making the deck:
- Kristya
- Absorbing Jar
- Ghost Ship
- Solar Wind Jammer
- Overlay Booster
- Star Drawing
- Cyber Dragon
- Double Cyclone
- Instant Fusion
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Weakness
And to finally mention what they are weak to, as all other things in the game they will have something to block them. I'll mention the few that would be ran in some sides.. if not every side
- Vanity's Emptiness
- Light-Imprisoning Mirror
- Macro
- Sou Drain
- Fossil Dyna
- Basically, any grave shutting down or special summoning shutting down will break them, so prepare your sides, and fear the swarm it could hurt you a lot!!
- I was asked about fissure Vs them, and the answer is NO, fissure won't hurt them, they will be s/t when sent to the graveyard!!!
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
I know the guide a bit overhyped, but I hope it helped you! Give me feedback on it and share your thoughts/suggestions for this archetype. |

| I think you should mention the posssibility of a synchro engine in them with cards like Genex Ally Birdman, chaos end master or Veiler in the main deck. |

Artifacts and Galaxy are what I look forward to Yup, tho galaxy still remain missing something even with all the support it's having. - MellisJaw wrote:

That's the point xD they'll abuse the fast easy R5s, yet tons of things can counter this deck. - laglag wrote:

Good techs, yet I see them more of a Rank focusing deck than running Birdman for example.. though it'd be a nice touch, veiler if in main would be nice to have a lv6 synchro or 2 .. but overall, I really don't think the deck meant to run synchros. |

Eccentric boy is a MUCH better tuner in artifacts since you can pair Eccentric boy with an artifact in hand, rather than going through the trouble of getting it on board. Angel of Zera is 2800 floater under eccentric boy's effect. Whenever Zera leaves the field, it'll comeback. This means your opponent is required to kill Zera at least twice. |

P.s Here is My madolche fact that i made yesteday for anyone that wants to check it out http://www.sendspace.com/file/ejx58l |
