Ok so far I know what Pendelum monsters are so far and how to use them. So far I have not really seen (because I am deuling on Yu Gi Oh pro cassualy not RDA duels) people using Pendelum monsters...so to differentiate myself and to help me find my own kind of play I am planning to construct a Deck or two about them.

One of them to honour Yugi I plan to use spellcaster related theme with the spell counter system.

However there is a question and it seems a stupid one at first: When the Effects of Pendelum Monsters are activated into their pendelum zone's do cards that count spellcounters when the a spell card is activated still count them as spell cards?

This may seem a stupid question since Pendelum Monsters are both Monster and magic card depending on if you put them in the Pendulum zone (Spell Card Effect) or on in the monster zone (Monster Effect). I know Pendulum Monster can be destroyed by cards like Mystical Space Typhoon so they are really counted as spell cards.

However since I am still learning any "new" rules about the game so that is why I am still uncertain if this is the case after all.

If this is really the case then I can continue creating a Spell Caster Deck with Pendelum summon, Synchro Summon and XYZ summon. After all according to the rules Pendelum Summon and Synchro Summon go Hand in Hand.

When a pendulum monster is placed in the pendulum zone it's considered a spell card, and that will be considered as a spell card activation.
This means you will get counters on your monsters that triggers after a spell card is activated.

But keep in mind, similar to continious spell cards. the counters are only applied when you activate the card from your hand into the pendulum zone and not when you activate an effect of an already face up pendulum monster in the pendulum zone. Because in the latter case you activate the effect of the spell card but not the card itself.

I see so I do get spellcounters from the moment in Pendulum Monster I set them. But not from activating the Pendulum effect.



That Means I can only use Pendulums in a limited way but maybe if I think things trough I can use them in some extent.
