For those who don't know what BMDI (or Battle Master Duel Isle) is, all will be explained here.  It's a new 3d graphic video series i plan on making from the ground up that will showcast an event done right here in RDA. Once i get to the point where i can make animations and clothing from scratch, i'll be asking the event manager to either alter a causal event, or host a completely new event just solely for the series. Now i know what you are saying..."big deal", just wait there's more. for those 8 people (at least for the first event) who enter, they will be able to make a character from the ground up.  there will be no main hero or villain in this series so please don't ask. You will be able to pick a gender, clothing, eye color, hair, animations, and even what is said during the duel itself. i say pick and not create because this will be a huge undertaking on my part because i literally have to make everything short of the base model from scratch. as i complete my training and start making things i'll make an update to this post, putting things up. i'm not going to put a date on when the event will happen because i don't know long it will take me to make everything, due to work as well as other things.

Sounds awesome, just to clarify, is it a video of the replays in the casual with added sequences of actions and reactions to things like damage, drawing and attacking. Or is it a complete video of the animation of the monsters, cards and attacks..etc in the duel!? ;o 

Or is it something completely different?

it's going to be a 3d version of the duels in a causal event, the monsters will still be in card form cause i don't feel like taking every single card and turning it into a monster(there is just too many) kinda like ygo3

Alright, another update...the dueldisk is finished. Now that this is done i am able to make animations knowning that the dueldisk won't clip though the actors.

Okay, i've been working on trying to make clothing work right and for some reason i don't know why it's coming out wrong. At this point i'm going to put a hold on continuing the BMDI project until i get the tutorial, watch it, apply it, master it. I'll then come back and pick up where i left off.  I feel continuing at the skill level that i'm currently at is like taking somebody who has never played yu-gi-oh and handing them an infernity deck and telling them to go have fun...we all know that won't turn out well. i'm NOT scrapping the project by any means, i'm going to take a step back learn more bout carrara from the tutorial i'm going to buy sometime next week and watch it, and hopefully i'll come back better then i am now...also facepalm at all the mistakes i made LOL

ok the basic groundwork for the dueling arena itself is finished. I'm still going to add things like the life point counters and the play area as well as Battle Master Duel Island on the walls and floor. Plus i need to add the stands and the rest of the walls and ceiling with the proper lights.

Great chunk of progress, good job and keep going.

well i've been making some major progress, with the battle arena. i just make one major goof. it's easily fixed however, everything i did on the 4 second.  for those who are scratching there heads don't worry i'll explain.  making animation using a 3d graphic program you use a time-line.  if you put a ball up in the air at the 0 second (or the first keyframe) and at the 4 second you have it on the ground as you scroll along the time line it will show the ball dropping.  however if you set it to the 2 second and move the ball higher, then scroll the time line the ball will rise from 0 seconds to 2 seconds, then proceed to drop faster to the ground between the 2 second to the 4 second mark where the animations stops.  what does that have to do with me and the BMDI dueling arena...well all the modifications that i have been doing to the arena has been on the four second mark.  the 0 second mark was just the dueling area of the battle arena...however as the time line scrolls all the parts move into place which creates a VERY cool video showing the arena forming so i thought i'd render the video and post it here, which means you'll also get to see an almost completed building i'm only missing 6 parts: ceiling, lights in the ceiling, the LP counters, and lastly the Battle Master Duel Arena name.

ok as some of you may or may not know. I'm planning on doing a reveal trailer for the hostess of the BDMI event, showing off what i have learned so far...well i thought i'd give a progress bar of what i have done thus far. I have her top done, her skirt is done, her boots are done, hair is done, that just leaves animations and completing the arena. once i finish those i'll make the trailer and post it here...then come part two of the "testing" phase. making her opponent for the duel. it will be quite simple as i know how to make tight fitting clothing. then comes the really fun part animating the duel itself. that might take a little while or not depending on how fast (and how smoothly) it goes. either way that is just an update to keep everybody in the loop. oh also no wopie i'm not showing until everythings done

well Airam, the hostess for BMDI is completed. i just need to do a walking animation, and i'll be ready to work on the reveal trailer.  However i thought bout it and decided to be a little nice and show a teaser, click the spoiler.

ok after watching more tutorials, i thought bout going back to the card and seeing if i could make it better as well as setting up a card being destroyed. there is somethings i need to fix, i know this, basically i'm going to make the "slicing" orb stretch more and make it move faster. i used the unknown card for the card front when it's cut in two, but the graphic went crazy when i posted it, so i removed it and left it untextured until i can figure out how to make it work right. i also need to make the card sliding a bit faster. the last one isn't my fault (damned youtube) but the peices are suppose to vanish at the end, but it didn't upload that last part...sorry. either way enjoy the card shatter v2
