Behind BMDI part 1: the idea.
" />
Ok "behind BMDI" is basically me showing everybody what i do taking the figure to the left and make it look like the figure on the right. this will show how i make Maria the hostess. but before i get into carrara i have to think when i make a character i have to think what do i want the character to do. I have to list exactly i want the character to do so i made a list.
the list is as follows:
background characters
throw-away duelist
major NPC's
characters
background characters: they are nothing more then making the scene more lively. anybody that falls into this list will do nothing more then maybe walk around or just sit and look around.
throw-away duelist: they actually have speaking parts, but mainly used to move the plot along. (the trespasser falls into this list)
Major NPC's: these characters will be around for a while. they will duel often and speaks alot (Airam and Maria falls into this list).
Characters: these are you people. the main actors.
after i figure out what list the character is in, that will determine how much work i'd put into the figure. the higher on the list the more details i'll put into it. In this case Maria falls into the major NPC list i'll be putting a good amount of detail into this as you all will see in the following parts of this.
Now comes one of the hardest parts, how do i want the figure in question to look, a lot of this is mental. thankfully i have a job that allows me to think, so i'm not sitting in front of my computer looking at this screen.
Another thing i have to think about is how much backstory do i want with my NPC's (and characters for that matter, looking you all for that BTW) once i figure out who my NPC's are, then i'll think bout what kinda outfit will suit that npc's personality. I'm not going to use a gothic style for somebody who's more of a church goer, unless it fits the plot. but in the instance of Maria, she's layed back, like to show a little skin every now and then. (there's more to her character then just that but i'll fill that part in the character bios section i plan on doing)
Now i have what kinda character she is, and her personality and backstory, i have to think up an outfit that fits. and the outfit i think will fit her nicely will be a racerback tanktop, and flowing skirt that will be right around her ankles. I'm also going to break it into two parts the top itself and the skirt part just to make it easier on me. and no that color will not be the end result.
after i've picked the outfit i just need to pick a figure and i have one that will do nicely. meet the figure known in the daz community as aiko 6, however when i get done modeling clothes, making hair and doing some other changes she will become Maria the hostess of BMDI.
in the next part i'll start working on her dress. thanks for the read and stay tuned for part 2 in the future.
