He lost lot of duels in pro section, due to that he did underground duels against various players , during an underground duel you take shocks if you lose life points, he slowly became "Dark zane" because of that.

Correct but you forgot the biggest part but it would be a huge spoiler it for anyone who hasn't seen it so I'm going to let it slide.
