I'm not sure if it's possible to do, but I'd like the Chatbox to make some kind of sound when a message is posted.

As easy as it sounds its not very easy. Unfortunately none of us are as good at coding as Amy so its not something we know how to do just yet. Though something we work on trying to figure out.

Forumotion chatbox code itself isn't being available edit, other sites are using an external chatbox that connects somehow with forumotion chatbox.
They are using some really special codes that makes it look good and all, but sadly I don't have any idea how to use such codes nor making them, tho I've been asked about this many times now, I've really searched and dug deep into it, I might be close to make something similar to what we need.

if any of you manage to learn how to make it i suggest making a poll before officially applying it to the site, cause i believe that some people that are like me will not be happy about this kind of change if it is to ever happen. personally i like to mute every chat sound in every site/app

If we were able to create it, it'll have have an option to stop notifications.
