Match 1: Harpies (.Jamie) vs Hieratic Ruler (Argor42) 19/50

Match Results : 0/20 (Lost 2-0)

Deck Construction : 10/15

Deck Consistency and Synergy - 5 points – 2/5
Deck Performance - 5 points - 3/5
Creativity and sophistication - 5 points – 5/5

This deck needs a lot of work. Although it's creative in its tech choices, I value card choices that make some degree of sense for the deck you're playing. Mained Kaiser, Sakuretsu Armor, and Fader do not make sense for me, nor does sided Skill Drain. You're missing cards like the third Sign, third Ground (this should be mained, not sided), and Solemn Warning. 2 Pet Dragon seems overkill, and Baby Pet Dragon does nothing for you in the Side Deck. I understand why one would play Veiler right now, but maining just one won't do you as much good. I would suggest siding Veiler instead of maining it, and adjust your build for some of the suggestions above. You should also be siding Maxx "C" to combat heavy Special Summon decks. The deck wants to see Sign as early as possible, since it efficiently tutors out the rest of your deck. As such, you might also consider playing Upstart Goblin to thin the deck more efficiently. Overall, the build is nice in that it's creative, and some of that creativity came into play in this match...that said, more optimal card choices could be made here in order to perhaps win more games.

Performance : 9/15

The main problem I saw with your performance largely came down to the problems with your deck, but little issues here and there also cost you. For example, you went and showed me an Egotist play when you had no more Harpie Lady in your deck to summon off of it. Instead, you could have set it in order to possibly bluff me that you had more dangerous backrow than you did. You did almost win Game 1, to your credit, but the little things like that resulted in you coming up short. Game 2 looked like it came down to some pretty mad variance as well...you didn't have much backrow the whole time, while I continually had answers for things while building a decent board. That being said, your siding was less than optimal. From what I see, you sided in Mind Drains, but Soul Drain would have been a much better choice here. Hieratic Rulers get most of their effects from the Graveyard, since the Hieratics usually get sent there by tribute and the Rulers are generally there for their Special Summons as well. Mind Drain doesn't stop off-chain effects at all, so it would have done nothing to stop my Hieratics from being Special Summoned from the hand. If anything, the main inconvenience would have been to my Rulers, but I usually get them in the Graveyard anyway. This means you would be shutting off your own hand traps (Fader, Veiler and why are you not siding Maxx "C"?) for relatively no gain. If I want to prepare for Hieratic Rulers, I'd be siding things like Soul Drain, Debunk, Dimensional Fissure, Maxx "C", etc.

Match 2: Spirits (.Jamie) vs Cosmic Dragons (Argor42) 19/50

Match Results : 0/20 (Lost 2-0)

Deck Construction : 10/15

Deck Consistency and Synergy - 3/5
Deck Performance - 3/5
Creativity and sophistication - 4/5

This deck also needs a lot of work. Needless to say, the Side Deck needs more cards to counter expected matchups. Soul Absorption doesn't really do any good for you, though. I'd suggest cards like Maxx "C", Black Horn of Heaven, and Debunk. The Main Deck is missing Kagetokage for the topdeck any monster combo. Nikitama+Aratama+Kagetokage yields Lavalval Chain and any monster from your Deck to your hand due to the combined effects of Lavalval Chain and Nikitama. Some of the Spirits you're running also clog a bit, like Fenghuang. In all honesty, Aratama and Nikitama are your 2 best Spirits, and you might consider dropping the others and making a more focused build around them. Cards like Izanami would help if you went that route. You could also consider Ghostrick Spriits, which have been doing decently on the competitive circuit. Regardless, there are many different directions in which you could take this build, so make sure to playtest to see what works best. Anyway, returning to your current build. You're also running a few cards that don't really help you much, like Jar of Greed. If you're running Reckless Greed at all, you should be maxing out on it, but Reckless also seems unnecessary here. Drop the Dark World Dealings and add more Upstarts, you want to see your cards as quickly as possible. You could perhaps also consider Creature Swap: you get one of their big monsters, while you give them a Spirit that goes back to your hand at the End Phase. It seems interesting enough for possibly testing, at least. But overall, this deck needs a lot of improvement.

As a final word of advice, make your Extra Decks more diverse. In both your Harpie and your Spirit decks, your Extra Decks run multiples of way too many cards of which you don't need multiples. Even though Exciton is forbidden on the test list, there are a bunch of other cards you should be running, like Abyss Dweller, Blackship of Corn, Zerofyne in your Harpie deck, and the list goes on. Make sure your Extra Deck is well-equipped to deal with all sorts of situations.

Performance : 9/15

This whole match came down to me establishing too much card advantage for your deck to deal with. Game 1 double Supply Unit got out of hand really quickly, and I ended up with too much for you to handle. Game 2 was less derpy in terms of card advantage, but Skill Drain did shut your plays down quite a bit. So once again, there was a degree of variance at play here, but you did do some misplays as well, particularly not remembering to use Yamato-No-Kami's effect when it destroyed my monster by battle...you could have at least gotten rid of one of my Supply Units or another S/T I had at the time. Regardless though, this wasn't exactly a good matchup for you with what you had. Your Side Deck at least had Soul Drain, but you never saw it Game 2. Dimensional Fissure would also have been good to have, but you never saw that either. And again, make sure to max out on your Side Decks to deal with expected matchups. Even against Cosmic Dragons, with which you might not have been as familiar, Black Horn and Dimensional Fissure are very strong. Debunk and Soul Drain are solid choices as well...all sorts of cards exist to prevent Cosmic Dragons from really getting much momentum. Your plays themselves were alright considering what you had, but in the end, your card choices ended up hindering you again.

+2 for attitude
