Dragon-Type DARK and LIGHT Monsters have been really popular ever since the release of the so-called “Chaos Dragons” from the Dragons Collide Structure Deck. Now, two more of them are available in Shadow Specters! Check out
White Dragon Wyverburster and
Black Dragon Collapserpent!
White Dragon Wyverburster is a Level 4 LIGHT Dragon that you can only Special Summon from your hand by banishing a DARK monster from your Graveyard.
Black Dragon Collapserpent is a Level 4 DARK Dragon that you can only Special Summon from your hand by banishing a LIGHT monster from your Graveyard. By banishing one of these two Dragons from your Graveyard, you can Special Summon the other Dragon from your hand. You can only Special Summon each of these Dragons once per turn with its effect, and neither one of them can be Normal Summoned.
But this synergy between these Dragons is only the beginning of the Wyverburster/Collapserpent team-up. If
White Dragon Wyverburster is sent from the field to the Graveyard, you can add a
Black Dragon Collapserpent from your Deck to your hand. Similarly, if
Black Dragon Collapserpent is sent from the field to the Graveyard, you can add a
White Dragon Wyverburster from your Deck to your hand. Note that both Dragons say that their effects can be used “if” they’re sent to the Graveyard instead of “when” they’re sent to the Graveyard, so you’ll never miss the opportunity to use their effects. You can even use one of the Dragons as a Synchro Material, and then activate its effect to add the other Dragon from your Deck to your hand.
Once you draw a single copy of
White Dragon Wyverburster or
Black Dragon Collapserpent, you’ll have a steady stream of Level 4 monsters. As soon as one of your Dragons is sent from the field to the Graveyard, you’ll be able to replace it by adding the Dragon of the opposite Attribute from your Deck to your hand. Your opponent will need to get through all 3 copies of
White Dragon Wyverburster and all 3 copies of
Black Dragon Collapserpent before you run out of monsters to Special Summon.
White Dragon Wyverburster and
Black Dragon Collapserpent do a lot more than just create a wall of expendable monsters; they also have impressive ATK and DEF that can damage your opponent’s Life Points or put a halt to your opponent’s attacks.
White Dragon Wyverburster has 1700 ATK and 1800 DEF, while
Black Dragon Collapserpent has 1800 ATK and 1700 DEF. Wyverburster and Collapserpent can stand up against some of the toughest Level 4 monsters out there.
DARK and LIGHT Dragons have always been popular among Duelists. Monsters that replace themselves when they’re sent to the Graveyard often found a place in Duelists’ Decks too.
White Dragon Wyverburster and
Black Dragon Collapserpent are in the best of both worlds. They’re LIGHT and DARK Dragons that add one another to a Duelist’s hand if they’re sent from the field to the Graveyard. Expect to encounter Wyverburster and Collapserpent in lots of Decks after the release of Shadow Specters!
