I'm posting this build in the hopes that I can A. Inspire people to do something new and B. maybe get some help with improving this build. It's an old school deck. The goal is to get appropriate on board and use cards to force your opponent to draw, and use your draws to pull the pieces of exodia.

darkworld dealings,hand destruction,one day of peace...

one day of peace is in the deck, dark world dealings and hand destruction have drawbacks that make them difficult to run. Darkworld dealings is a -1 in hand unless you already have appropriate active on the field, and it cannot be used to activate appropriate. This is because discarding is the last part of the effect, and you miss the timing. Hand destruction hasn't got the same weakness, BUT if your opponent doesn't hold 2 cards in hand, you cannot use it. These drawbacks are the reason I'm not running either card.

by the same logic,cup of ace give you a -1 and opponent +2 if it fails and you don't have appropriate.

yes, but I can also switch gears with the deck and focus on decking the opponent out instead. A single, Well played book of eclipse can set me on that path.

even dealing and hand destruction is better than the gift of greed which does nothing if you don't have an already face-up appropriate.

how about soul of fire x3 with volcanics mix o.o 

or destiny hero defender x3 level B area limit x3 and (optionally) exchange of light and day x3 and satellar knights. 

some more offensive builds.

that's an idea I might consider for my side deck. I really want to focus on the exodia combo with my main deck though.
