Hello all,

I know we've been inactive for long and I'm now free to revive RDA but before I do, for those few members who check on RDA I want your opinion on a matter. I'm thinking of changing the academy system so please read the following and give your votes.


Dorms will remain in existence with slight edits that might be made including namings, colors.. etc.

Testing System will be cancelled and instead of it there will be points system based on it members will be placed into dorms.

This system is based on gathering points, those points will be gathered in many ways such as Arenas, Events, Dices and even buying points using DPs.

In order to be in a dorm, you need to have a certain amount of points for example, to get into Slifer you'll need to have 50 points, to get into Ra you'll need to have 200 points.. etc. Also there might be extra requirements for this matter.

As for the current dormed members and their arenas.. and event wins.. nothing of that is sure yet.. we might restart it all and reset all records and we might keep them.   

This's the basic info of the system I have in mind.. tell me what you think?





NOTES: 
1-Everything will be reset (Arenas, events, DPs.. etc)
2-BA and ELO rating will merge into one, SA and UA remain the same.

For each:
Arena win: (match) : 3 points except the UA +1 point
Events winning: Depends on the event. 
basic events with 8 people 10 points
with 16 people 20 points

You can buy 1 point for x000 DPs.
People can buy an item from the shop that would double the points of dorm in an arena. This item can be bought once a day (Or twice) and it costs 200-500 DPs.

(NOTE: in this matter, rolls rules will be changed to make sure they're not being abused)

All will start at "New Student".. after 1 post is made, a new student will be auto transferred into Kuriboh brown dorm.

to get into

Slifer: 50 points

Ra: 200 points + 1 event win (first place) +   a winning ratio of 60%
 
Obelisk: 500 points + ?? + ??

Hora: ???



Okay.. so that's the basic alpha idea of the system.. please provide me with ideas and feedback.

The new system does sound fun, but I don't want to have to go through earning my dorm again. The new system at least makes it so that testers don't have to deal with lazy teachers. :p That's another plus. I voted "I hate it" earlier but after thinking about it, I wanted to say I do actually like it. Just dun wanna lose mah dorm. xD

As of right now, Konami is starting to get back into the online gaming business with yu-gi-oh. I think a revamp of the system is just what you need. Here's my input:
I think it'd be nice to have a point system in effect that allows players to rent (for use) one forbidden card for a predetermined number of uses in Arena matches. It'd be interesting to see how players adjust to picking one banned card to incorporate into their decks. This will help us compete with Konami, as well as keep activity up when it would otherwise become inactive due to outside influences. Other than that, sounds alright to me. I'll make more suggestions if I come up with any.

i will support anything that will make RDA back to active.

I like it but hate it. Thing is I believe that someone of adequete skill level should place them in dorms and such but after that its fair game if they move up or not. Which is where you system would come in. If I were to think about doing this system I'd think get at least people of adequete skill to do first placement and after that they can go up on their own. Teachers then only interfere when there going to horakty. 
Though the thing about buying points in the shop or winning them in rolls. Meh don't like it because duelists should move up on pure skill alone. Its like saying because you win a lot of roles you get into obelisk even though you suck.

well, thats true. xD
what about if we add sub-dorm, example obelisk blue categories 1, obelisk blue categories 2, obelisk blue categories 3, etc. the one who made into obelisk because of his dueling skills are placed to categories 1, the one who made into obelisk because he only doin dice rolls are placed to categories 2, etc.

but i think thats not gonna happen if we add something like "quest" or maybe i should say "test" for dorm up. testing his dueling skills, deck building skills, activity, etc.

that is my oppinion.

Agree about that, but we can make some extra requierments beside having enough points like ( X events wins/ X arena wins etc..) & since DPs are lacking any usefullness maybe instead of buying points with DPs directly, you can set some sorta of "quests" as @Cereus said that will give a task to complete( winning conditions etc..) or something like that with a limitation ( you can buy X quests per day).

Cage, we don't need to "compete" with Konami, we offer entirely different services, not to mention Duel Arena isn't even that big in comparison to other sims, from all I know.

I'll check back on this periodically to see if anything's changed.

For now I have a comment on Marcus's reply, DPs will be used to buy those points.. but there's a huge possibility for DPs to be reset.. so as everything else.

It's not a bad idea, but it should be revised. First, I don't think Testing System should be removed, since it's a way to class your skill without starting in the bottom and taking much time to gain the dorm suited to your skill. But instead, it shouldn't be done more than one time (which mean with a new member). To go higher in classement, it is there where your system take place.

It could be a Rank System based, instead of point, about DP you won without counting buying (which mean even if I have won in total 100 DP and I spend 50 DP on a deck recipe, I don't lose my rank since it count again as 100 DP). So, that system would determine the more active and the more skilled duelists. When you are classed in a dorm, you start with the minimum of DP to be in this dorm and you must gain more to become higher in the dorm and, also, change your dorm. It's more simple than adding a another point system and making it more complicate to calculate.

The only part I would never agree with is the "Dices and even buying points using DPs"...

I'd suggest a part (if you really let people 'buy' their way in) where you test a member's skill if they have reached a certain amount of points.

Ex. Someone has earned enough points to go from Slyfer to Ra, then they should duel a teacher to pass... or something like that. ... So something like promotion dueling ...

I always hated drastic changes however as much as I hate this new system excited to see something new here, I'm just against the idea of deleting off the testing system... But as neo said why not make it hard for people to get tests if the only reason is that there are not enough teachers, make the tests be earned by dueling, less testing less work for teachers more encouragment for the members to go duel in the arenas to earn their test, more activity.

I think it's really a nice system bro ^^

A minimum of winning count was there but removed by the idea of winning ratio... it's more effective

if winning ratios count INCLUDE SOME DEMOTIONS!!!!!!

if you're not gonna add something like test to dorm up, or make dorm up little harder, i agree with wopie, you should add dorm down too. so ppl will keep their pace in current dorm.
about reset, i have no objections since its unavoidable.
and about buying points with DP, seriously, ppl will just buy points with it then auto slifer without a duel, then buy it again and just win an easy dueling event then auto RA. xD
unless you make the price expensive like 10 points = 1000DP or maybe higher if you insist making points buyable with DPs.

that is my opinion.
